We are in a time in our country where democracy is being challenged. The importance of our vote has to become more amplified than at any other time in history. In times past the privilege of casting your vote has been the focus of an individual’s support of a political party. Now, there is more of an emphasis on the relevant issues, causes, and the direct impact on various groups, communities, and the nation at large. Understanding how our democracy works and the significant impact or vote can make is the driving force that drives many to the voting polls.
